US downgrades India’s air safety rating to sub-Saharan standards


Aviation secretary Ashok Lavasa confirmed the ministry had received FAA's report but said he hasn't read it yet.In a blow to the Indian government just as it readies itself for elections, the US Federal Aviation Administration on Friday downgraded its aviation regulator’s safety rating to a category that puts it at par with sub-Saharan African countries.
