The Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT) on Tuesday lauded Prime MinisterNarendra Modi’s intent of India-made products, saying it will benefit millions of youth in the country.
Modi, in his maiden Independence Day speech urged global firms to “come, make in India.” The government aims to revive domestic manufacturing that also includes electronic goods and chip-level components.
In a statement Tuesday, MAIT executive director Anwar Shirpurwala said that PM Modi’s address to the nation on the 68th Independence Day opens a new chapter to propel manufacturing agenda. Mait represents electronic manufacturers in India.
“Schemes related to skill development shall benefit millions of youth, boost self-reliance and create employment at a large scale,” he added.
