Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kochi and Kolkata have emerged as the leading alternative delivery locations for information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) services behind India’s top cities in the last five years.
Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Trivandrum and Visakhapatnam have emerged as the second choices, and Chandigarh and Indore also appear to be promising locations for IT-BPM companies to set up and expand their operations.
These are the findings of a report titled ‘Emerging delivery locations in India: the rising tide’, by real estate advisory firm Cushman and Wakefield and software industry lobby group Nasscom, released on Wednesday.
Ahmedabad has strong infrastructure with good air connectivity, significant growth in office stock, an upcoming metro rail project and is located on the Delhi-Mumbai corridor, to list a few advantages the city enjoys.
Jaipur offers a wide talent pool, with the headcount and the number of IT-BPM units in the city doubling in last five years, along with good air connectivity and an under-construction Metro rail.
