American home improvement store chain Lowe’s is setting up a global inhouse centre (GIC) in Bengaluru that will hire over 820 professionals by 2016.
The $54-billion company has leased 110,000 sqft of office space in the Manyata Tech Park for the captive centre that will become the largest outside its headquarters in the US.
The Bengaluru centre will initially focus on supporting Lowe’s newly-created data analytics – or as the company calls it ‘measure and evaluate’ – practice. This is the idea of measuring all that the company does to decide what to do in the future. It is also essential to provide customers a seamless experience across multiple channels – physical stores, the web, mobile, call centre.
